§1 Players and Accounts
Each player may only own and play one account per server.
§1.1 Password
The password is the proof of ownership of an account. If you give away your password, you also give away your account. Both the giver and the receiver of the password must follow rule §1. Password transfer is therefore, with the exception of account trades, against the rules. For password transfers, the old owner of the account must send an e-mail to admin@travian.co.uk from the address used to register with the server, user name, and the e-mail address of the new owner.
§1.2 Sitting
Each player has the ability to appoint two sitters to watch their account in his/her absence. Sitting includes only the maintenance of the account, so attacks with Rams, Catapults, Senators, and Chiefs are not allowed by sitters. There are no reparations for losses which were caused by sitters as each player is responsible for his sitters. For restrictions on resource transfers between sitters and sittees, see §2.
§1.3 Same Computer Usage
If more than one player plays from one computer, both accounts must be registered under "Same Computer Usage" in the account preferences. For restrictions on resource transfers between players who use the same computer, see §2.
§2 Resource Transfers and Pushing
An account must always be played with its own benefit in mind and may not exist for the use or benefit of another account.
§2.1 Acceptable Resource Transfers
The one-way transfer of resources between players ("Pushing") is against the rules. Smaller players may send an hour's worth of production per day; larger players may send smaller players up to three hours' production per day. (One hour's worth of production consists of the net sum total of all resources in all villages, plus the upkeep of troops.) This applies to tributes, embassy upgrades, purchases of troops, etc. Players are allowed to transfer wheat to keep their troops fed when they are acting as reinforcements in another village.
§2.1.1 Acceptable Resource Transfers In The Case of Same PC Usage and/or Sitting
The one-way transfer of resources between players who use the same computer or sitters/sittees is against the rules. In these cases, one hour's worth of production is also not allowed and trades at the market must be done at 1:1.
The exception is wheat transfers done in cases of defense (only in Travian 3). These wheat transfers may not continue more than three days and must be done seldomly.
§2.2 Friendly Fire
It is against the rules to willingly allow resources (Travian 2 and Travian 3) and villages (only Travian 2) to be taken.
§2.2.1 Raids
Resources that have been placed in a village for the purpose of being raided away add to the day's total of resources that have been sent via the marketplace (see §2.1).
§2.2.2a Village Capture (Only Travian 2 Worlds)
Village conquests count as friendly - and therefore not permitted - if the conquering player sits for, uses the same computer as, or is in the same alliance or allied alliance as the owner of the conquered village (or if one of these three conditions has been the case within three days of the village's capture), and/or if the conquered player/a sitter facilitates the capture by removing defending troops, destruction of defenses, or by demolishing a residence or palace.
§2.2.2b Village Capture (Only Travian 3 Worlds)
Villages of players for whom one has sat in the last 14 days or who were listed as sitters/same computer usage in the last 14 days may not be conquered. The rule applies even when the player quits or becomes inactive.
§3 Use Of Externals
The use of scripts or bots which automate actions (such as building upgrades or sending troops) or modify the game interface (for example, Grease monkey scripts) are against the rules. The game must be played with an unmodified internet browser. All scripts which excessively tax the server are also forbidden.
§4 Errors In The Game
Programming errors, "bugs," should be reported in the forums or to admins immediately. They may not be exploited in order to gain advantages. Abuse can lead to the account being punished.
§5 Money Transactions
It is against the rules to buy or sell troops or resources for money. It is also against the rules to exchange actions or services for money. The sale of accounts is forbidden.
§6 Netiquette
A conversational tone should be maintained at all times.
Insults, real-life threats, personal attacks, political statements, and spamming are all against the rules. In-game names, village names, and player and alliance profiles fall under the same rules. Questionable or vulgar drawings, especially due to excessively large profiles, are also against the rules.
Player names may not imitate names of Multihunters, admins, or other Travian team members. Names which are intended to be perceived as Travian team members may be deleted.
All types of advertisement not sanctioned by the Travian Team is against the rules. The medium is irrelevant.
§7 Punishment
In the event of a rule violation, the Multihunters and admins decide upon the punishment. Possible punishments are: reduction of resource field and building levels, deletion of villages, partial or complete emptying of warehouses, partial or complete deletion of troops, removal from or of an alliance, and deletion of the account.
§7.1 Replacements
Resources, buildings, villages, or troops lost during the time of suspension will not be replaced under any circumstances.
§7.2 Plus
The player has no right to compensation or replacement of time lost on a Travian Plus account while suspended.
There is no preference given to Travian Plus accounts regarding the rules, either in time taken to resolve the punishment in the punishment given.
§7.3 Appeals
Players may plead their cases to Multihunters via IGM or admins via e-mail (agge@travian.org). Bannings, punishments, and deletions are not to be discussed publicly (for example, through IRC or forums).
§8 Illegal Logins
It is against the rules to attempt to gain access to another's account. Violations can lead to permanent banning from the game. The Travian Team will never ask you for your password!
§9 Instigation and Collaboration
Inciting, manipulating, encouraging, assisting or conspiring with others to violate any of the Travian Rules is impermissable.
§10 Deletions
All rules still apply to players who intend to delete their account or who are already in the deletion phase. In particular, the rules regarding resource transfers (Rule §2) and capture of villages (Travian 2) still apply.
§11 Rule Changes
The Travian Team reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
§12 Corrections In Rules
If individual enforcement of these rules prove to be ineffective, that does not diminish their validity. The administrators are committed to replacing ineffective regulations with those which can be better enforced. These new rules will be used without delay and in any pending case. This also applies to implicit but unstated gaps in current rules which are meant to be viewed in the spirit of the explicitly stated rules.
Each player may only own and play one account per server.
